Our newest coach seats bring the refurbished look of the modern Class 455 interior to OO gauge. These high-back double seats are built to the same 13.87mm height as the rest of our full-size seating range, so they sit comfortably alongside seats you may already have fitted.
What makes these seats different?
Refurbished 455s carry a taller, more modern seat than the originals. We drew ours from the real thing, with a split back, a gentle taper at the top, padded headrest and lumbar areas, a scored rear shell and straight legs. They are small details, but together they make the inside of a coach read as a modern train rather than a generic one.
Three versions, including grab handles
On the real trains, the seats next to the aisle have a grab handle on the top corner. To match that, the seats come in three versions:
- Standard: no handle, for window seats and anywhere a handle isn't needed
- Grab Handle Left: handle on the left-hand top corner, as you look at the cushion
- Grab Handle Right: handle on the right-hand top corner
Mixing the versions lets you set out each row as it appears on the prototype, with the handles on the aisle side of every pair.

Painting and fitting
A light primer gives the best base. Blue moquette, or your chosen operator's colours, works well on the cushions and backs, with dark grey on the seat shell and silver or satin grey on the grab handles. Test-fit the seats in your coach before gluing, then fix them by the feet with a small amount of plastic-safe glue.
Like all Ignite 3D products, these seats are designed and made in the UK and tested on our own layout before they go on sale. As FDM-printed parts, fine layer lines and small variations may be visible, particularly before painting.
