Fill out your lineside with four trackside electrical cabinets of the type that stands beside almost every running line in Britain.

Cases like these house signalling and power equipment. They are rarely found on their own, so a pack of four gives you a proper run rather than a single lonely box. This one is modelled as a steel location case: flush doors with scribed shut lines, external butt hinges two per door, lever handles with a padlock hasp, a side louvre vent hood, a cable gland plate with gland bosses, a hex earth bonding point, a recessed danger label panel to locate a decal, and four base fixing flanges.

Supplied unpainted in grey resin, supports removed and ready to clean up and paint.

Painting and installation

Wash the parts before painting to remove any resin film, then give them a coat of grey primer. BR green or mid grey suits the body, gunmetal the hinges and hasp, galvanised silver the gland plate, and a sooty black wash settles the cabinet into the scene.

Fix them down with superglue or two-part epoxy. Plastic cement will not bond resin, so do not use it.

Fine layer lines may be visible under close inspection. They disappear under a coat of primer.
